The activity that we choose is the city-building. We were divided into groups based on our personality test results. We were provided with limited resources to build the city.
Throughout the activity, the Taylor's Graduate Capabilities (TGC) that we developed are communication skills, interpersonal skills and citizenship and global perspective.
We develop communication skills as we were able to communicate appropriately in various settings and modes. For example, we had the chance to exchange ideas among groups.
To realise the city of our dream, we had to understand team dynamics and mobilise the strength of our team. This is where we were able to develop our interpersonal skills. Every team had different strategies to build the city. Therefore we had to work together to get the activity done.
The next TGC we developed is citizenship and global perspective. As a team, there were diverse opinions and perspectives. We had to evaluate and incorporate all the ideas to get the best city built.
All of these TGC would help us in developing our own personal characters in facing the real world. Through these TGC we are able to prepare ourselves for challenges ahead of us. For instance, the communication skills can aid us in passing our universities admission. Our interpersonal skills can help us to deal with people regardless of what profession we are in.
All in all, we believe that these TGC will help us to live a better life. As we were all very new, we had trouble in communicating as each one of us were still in our own shell. One of the ways we pulled through was one of the members assumed leadership and connected the dots between all of us. In the near future, we will try our best to be the one who solve any plight which is ahead of us.
